What to do in San Diego

In addition to it's obvious proximity to the large major attractions like Disneyland and DIsneyland California Adventure, San Diego proper has a multitude of places to visit for any discernable taste. Below are some of the main attractions, as well as some of the not-so-well known attractions.

	Sea World With large walk-through shark tanks, plenty of penguins, seals, a new baby dolphin, and, of course, Shamu®, Sea World is one of the top attractions in and around San Diego. With plenty of educational exhibits and not-so-educational rides, Sea World will definitely fill an afternoon.	Golfing in San Diego With the temperate climate and the low rain totals, San Diego has established itself as one of the premier golfing destinations in Southern California. The San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina has cultivated partnerships with local golf courses and will make tee-time reservations for their guests at over 20 local courses. Recommended courses, fees, descriptions and dress codes are found on the Golf Guide (.pdf).
	San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park Ranked as one of the top zoos in the world, the San Diego Zoo is a must see when visiting San Diego. You can walk through beautiful gardens on the way to seeing thousands of animals from every corner of the world.
	San Diego Harbor Tours See the beautiful San Diego Harbor (or more) with the most established bay tour company. You can see sites such as the Coronado Bay Bridge, the Star of India, and the Navy yards and submarine base (San Diego is home to a good deal of the U.S. surface fleet) on this short 1 or 2 hour tour. You might want to take a quick look at the other tours they offer, if you have more time.
	Gaslamp Quarter Easily accessible by the San Diego Trolly in the heart of downtown San Diego, the Gaslamp Quarter is 16 square blocks of unique award-winning restaurants, shopping, galleries and spas. Or you can enjoy a guided walking tour of the historical district.
	Coronado "Island" The home of the famous Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado Island is full of haut shopping and restaurants. Take a peaceful ferry ride launching on the half-hour from the Broadway Pier.
	Cabrillo National Monument Home of the famous Point Loma Lighthouse and the giant statue of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, the leader of the first European expedition to explore the western United States. In addition to these first-class activities, the unique biodiversity on the island is very abundant on the island and if you look out over the ocean, you might catch a glimpse of the migrating gray wales.
	San Diego Museum of Man The San Diego Museum of Man is California's only museum dedicated solely to anthropology. They explore the art, scientific achievements and culture of groups from all over the world, including California, Peru, and Egypt. It is located right outside Balboa Park, the nation's largest urban cultural park, which also houses the San Diego Aerospace Museum, Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater and Science Center, San Diego Natural History Museum, and San Diego Museum of Art.
